Welcome to American Risk Retention Coalition (ARRC), an affiliate of the Self-Insurance Institute of America, Inc. (SIIA), America’s oldest and largest industry trade association representing the interest of the entire self-insurance and alternative risk transfer community.

Founded in 2006 by SIIA, the American Risk Retention Coalition is a member based organization of risk retention owners and their service providers as well as excess insurers and reinsurers.  ARRC is dedicated to advancing the Federal Liability Risk Retention Act (LRRA) to include additional lines of coverages permitted to be underwritten through federally protected risk retention groups.  In addition, ARRC will advance the need for Congress to strengthen the preemption provisions of the LRRA to enable risk retention groups to operate nationwide on the basis of a single state regulatory agency having oversight of the operations of risk retention groups as is the intent of the LRRA.

ARRC will also work closely with members of Congress to address the issues raised by the Government Accounting Office (GAO) report commissioned by Congress relative to the operation of risk retention groups and regulation formed under the LRRA. In addition, ARRC will serve as the voice for the risk retention community at the state regulatory level through its active participation in National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and The National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL).
